Lukiko Consulting Trust (LCT) is a nonprofit Trust, registered and incorporated in Kenya under the Trustee (Perpetual Succession) Act – Chapter 164. LCT sees itself has having a role through research, publications, training and consultancy to help entrench co operatives as strategic institutions in the liberalized private sector of the economy.
LCT goal is to complement and support the efforts of other co-operative institutions and those of the government to position the co-operatives as strategic private sector players in the national economy. LCT is inspired by the potential capacity of co-operatives to fight ignorance and poverty through creation andequitable spread of wealth, employment and other socio-economic benefits to large numbers of people.

Objectives
- To write and publish education and training materials on co-operatives and co-operative movements;
- To carry out research, policy analysis, project documentations and publications for client organizations;
- To design and undertake organization development (OD), including executive coaching and training for clients and
- To collaborate with other stakeholders including governments in promoting, advocating and implementing policies and programmes of creating wealth and employment and alleviating poverty within communities.
Board of Trustees
The founder trustees of LCT have between them over 100 years experience in co-operative organizational development and management, education, training and consultancy and are widely traveled. One of the trustees is almost synonymous with development of the co-operative movement from the grassroots. He was the first general manager of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya and for 16 years was its chief executive officer. He has consulted for FAO on rural credit in several African countries, including carrying out studies for establishment of co-operative banks in Zambia and Lesotho. He holds a Doctor of Letters degree from Africa Nazarene University.
Another trustee has over 36 years experience in co-operative management organization development and training. He was involved in the transformation of Co-operative Insurance agency to an insurer, served it in various executive positions, including as its chief executive for nine years. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (UK), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries (K) and has MBA from JKUAT.
Another trustee is a woman, Ph. D. holder, whose doctoral thesis was on factors that influence transfer of management training in small and medium enterprises in Kenya. Her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees are in education and she has 30 years experience in education and management training with a number of reputable institutions in Kenya. The third trustee is a young man under 30 years who has an IT professional with 5 years experience with a multinational corporation.
The founding trustees of LCT are convinced that co-operatives have distinct advantage to contribute to equitable creation of wealth and employment to alleviate poverty in our country. Evidence of immense contribution by co-operatives in other countries of the world supports this conviction and LCT will research and publish comparative studies to encourage and motivate local co-operators.
